"They say some have to reach a point in their lives when they hit rock bottom or there is something so profound that happens which triggers a catalyst for change. For me it was when I was out shopping (because none of my clothes fit any more) I remember trying on clothes in one of those dressing rooms where there are mirrors completely encircling you 360 degrees and caught sight of the folds of fat in my back, the size of my rear, and my protruding gut. It was like someone came and slapped me across the face with a reality stick. I knew I need to make a change and make it now!
When I first met Justin or 'J' as I like to call him, he seemed a bit imposing given the sheer size of him! I remember thinking, 'this guy is going to pummel me', which truthfully is what I needed. The first week of training with J was such hard work, that after each session I would go accross the street from the gym, sit on a bench in the square and rest with my head in my hands for half an hour to 45 minutes. I physically did not have the dexterity to drive my motorbike home without fear of crashing; and when I did make it home, I would immediately sleep for a couple hours to recuperate, but I kept coming back for more. I could tell that J knew his stuff, and that I would see results if I stuck with it. And stick with I did and the results became apparent from the second week onwards and have been non-stop ever since.
When I stared working out with Justin, I had been away from exercise for a good three to four years and it showed. I was tipping the scales at just over 200 lbs (92kg) and sporting 38in waist. That may not sound like much, but for an ex-dancer who's always been 145/150 lbs (65kg) with a 29/30in waist, that's a drastic difference.
With the help, support and dedication of Justin, I have now reached a lean 72kg with a 30in waist, and gained some solid muscle as well.
My strength has also increased, from not being able to do one pull up to be multiple and from not being able to do one dip unassisted again to being able to to do multiple.
Although the workouts are challenging they are also fun and I have learnt heaps. Justin is a living testament to the fact that you can work hard, be professional and still have fun, even on legs day.
Justin has a unique way of building a strong relationship with his clients, based on trust and an understanding of their specific needs. There is no one that I trust more than Justin, and I know that if I go to him with a problem he will always come up with a unique solution. If something is not working he adapts it to something more suitable to help you achieve your goals.
He shows a genuine interest in my well-being and makes sure that I have the tools (knowledge and skills) needed to continue to maintain my results and a solid foundation on which to continue to build going forward.
And although we do have fun while working out that's not to say that Justin is a pushover. He tells it like it is, and doesn't let you get away with trying to cheat, all with a smile of course!"
